Snoffle

Guide · updated 2026-10-31

Why doesn't ChatGPT recommend my website?

To find out whether your tool comes up when someone asks an AI for one like it, ask the way your buyers do and see who it names instead. Snoffle does exactly that, with live web search, and shows what their pages say that yours doesn't, for $29. An AI assistant usually searches the web first, then recommends what it found and could read; if you're not in those results, or your page doesn't say plainly what you do, you're not in the answer.

A real example

On 2026-10-31 we asked an AI assistant (Claude, with live web search) a question a buyer of our own app ClipCut would ask:

"what's the best tool to turn my standup comedy set into short captioned clips for tiktok and reels?"

It recommended OpusClip, OpusClip, CapCut. It did not name ClipCut. Google's top results for the same question were reddit.com, facebook.com, youtube.com, and ClipCut was not in the top 10. That is the gap most new products have, including ours.

What assistants need before they'll name you

  1. To find you. Your page has to show up in the searches the assistant runs, which means being indexed and being the clear answer to the question someone asks.
  2. To read you. The raw page must say what it does, who it's for and what it costs, without needing JavaScript to run.
  3. To trust you. One consistent price everywhere, working links, and other sites that mention you.

What to do this week

  • Write the one sentence a buyer would ask, and make it the first sentence of a page on your site.
  • Make sure that page is in the raw HTML (View page source and look for it).
  • List the product where your buyers already look: directories, marketplaces, communities you genuinely take part in.

Nobody can promise an assistant will name you. You can remove every reason it can't.

Quick answers

When someone asks an AI for a tool like mine, does mine come up? If not, who shows up instead and why?
Ask the assistant the question your buyer would ask, with web search on, and note who it names; then search Google for the same words. Snoffle runs both for you, shows who wins instead, how well they and you read to AI tools, and what to change. One report is $29.
How do AI assistants choose which websites to recommend?
Assistants with web search look up the question, then recommend products from the results they found and could read. Being indexed for the buyer's question and having a readable page that states what you do, for whom and at what price are the basics.
Is SEO dead now with AI?
No. Assistants with web search start from search results: in our own tests the assistant searched the web first and recommended products that showed up there. Being indexed, and being the clear answer to the question, still decides whether you are in the answer.
